Project Description:

ECO Consult was commissioned by Bearing Point to conduct an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) study for Aqaba Development Company on expanding the existing Industrial port located at the southern Jordanian border and relocating the operations of the current Main Port to the south of Aqaba.

Provided Services: 

The ESIA described the existing baseline environment of the areas (Main Port site, land-side at South Port, marine environment at South Port), determined and assessed key positive and negative consequences of the project, and proposed framework mitigation and environmental management measures which would minimize the negative environmental consequences, including references to best practices and guidelines for equipment, technology and procedures, which would become requirements to be included in potential design, construction and operation of the facility.
