Project Description:

The Orange Knowledge Program (OKP) managed by Nuffic aims to achieve Sustainable Development Goals in different countries in line with national and regional priorities. The Institutional Collaboration Project in Jordan and Iraq strengthens national system capacities in efficient and sustainable horticulture farming with a focus on applied skills development and improved agricultural TVET institutional structures. The Make Horticultural Knowledge Work project is implemented by a consortium of Netherlands, Iraqi and Jordanian institutions to achieve OKP goals.

Provided Services: 

As one of the principal consortium members of the program, ECO Consult manages the Scholarship facility in Jordan and Iraq.  Short courses are offered to  groups and individuals  key to the development of  the horticulture sector.  In parallel, organize and conduct theoretical and practical training tailored to the local context to practitioners while creating synergies with other ongoing projects in both countries. ECO Consult also plays a major role in creating linkages with main target groups; the Technical and Vocational Education and Trainings (TVET), extension services of the Ministry of Agriculture, NGOs, students and other horticulture actors in both countries.
